ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION ACT

                       ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION ACT Transplantation of Human Organs Act, was passed in 1994 and is aimed at regulation of removal, storage and transplantation of human organs for therapeutic purposes and for prevention of commercial dealings in human organs. In India, matters related to health are governed by each state. The Act was initiated at the request of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Goa (who therefore adopted it by default) and was subsequently adopted by all states except Andhra Pradesh and Jammu &Kashmir. UNIFORM CIVIL CODE

                                                    UNIFORM CIVIL CODE Uniform civil code  is the proposal to replace the personal laws  based on the scriptures and customs of each major religious  community in India  with a common set governing every citizen. Article 44 of the  Directive Principles  sets its implementation as duty of the State. Goa  has a  common family law , thus being the only Indian state to have a uniform civil code.

National Waterways Act, 2016

               National Waterways Act, 2016 The National Waterways Bill, 2015 was introduced in Lok Sabha on May 5, 2015 by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, Mr. Nitin Gadkari. Under Entry 24 of the Union List of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution, the central government can make laws on shipping and navigation on inland waterways which are classified as national waterways by Parliament by law. The Bill identifies additional 101 waterways as national waterways. The Schedule of the Bill also specifies the extent of development to be undertaken on each waterway. The Bill repeals the five Acts that declare the existing national waterways. These five national waterways are now covered under the Bill.
